On the last day of term 3 me, my mum and my brother went to Kaitaia and stayed at the Whatuwhiwhi top 10 holiday park. We spent a night there, then we woke up and went to Cape Reinga to look at the top of New Zealand and the Lighthouse. After we went to Cape Reinga we went to the sand dunes and we got our jackets and slided down the biggest sand dune there. Before we went on holiday my mum went on messages to text my Aunty and she saw that my Aunty posted a video of them going to the sand dunes too. When we came back from Cape Reinga and the sand dunes we got home and the office Lady came and told everyone to leave the next day because it was COVID 19 Level 3. My mum started packing so that we could leave the next day, when we woke up my mum and my brother drove back to our house and on the way back we saw a gray horse then we saw a baby horse get up next to it that was the colour chestnut.

The fun auction

 In Te Maunga we made an auction for Easter Eggs. We had to work hard and show mat manners and be good to earn money and then when you earnt lots of money we got to buy easter eggs and everyone had to put there hand up and then the person who said how much money they had or less and then when some one did not put there hand up that person would get the easter egg. My favorite part was when we got to see who would win the easter egg.

How to save a whale

 On March the 24th we had visitors come to Paihia School, called Shirley and Jayden. We learnt how to measure and save a whale and we experienced types of shell and sea animals like sea horses, crabs and starfish. I enjoyed holding all of the fish and learning how to save a whale.

Amazing food for thought

 In Te Maunga we did food for thought. I learnt about how much sugar food had in them and how much sodium and fiber and also the fat total we learnt about how healthy it was and if it was good for you I learnt that weet bixs keep you fuller for longer and coco pops have 32.4g of sugar. I enjoyed playing kahoot and going to the four square. I enjoyed learning about how to read how much sugar and fat total food have on them.

Amazing character description.

 In Te Maunga we did T shaped literacy about character description. I learnt about how  to read four books called miss honey mr willy wonka mr trunchbull and the grand high witch when we finished reading them we had to find word sentences describing the character and we had to find definitions of specific vocabulary we also had to find descriptions telling us about the character when we were finished that slide we had to do a slide about if they are good or evil and we had full in descriptions from the text that support your decision and then after that we had to full in the box that said how do you know from the descriptions when we were finished the slides we had to draw one of the characters from the book after we did that then we had to draw our own character and it could be any character we wanted even an animal. I enjoyed drawing our own character. I enjoyed learning about characters.

What You Need To Know About Cross Country!

 On September 25th Paihia School did cross country at Bledisloe.  First we ran around the field.   Then we jumped over a gate and went up a hill.   After we went down the hill to the finish line. After the race I felt hot, hungry, thirsty and tired.  

Amazing Authors Create Poems

  In Te Maunga we have been learning about language features in poems. I learnt about similes that are sentences that have like and as in them and they compare two things.
